Question about delivering alone?

So it turns out my husband won't be home in time for the birth of our first baby :( and Im estranged from my family. Im close with his dad and his sister but I don't think Im close enough to deliver in front of either of them. Im a very private person and don't want anyone except my husband in the delivery room, but since that's impossible I've decided to go it alone. Anyone deliver without family or friends? Did it make it harder?
