Does anyone know.... codeine cough syrup with Benadryl or Nyquil taken later?

I took a prescribed dose of codeine cough syrup at 8. I fell asleep fine but woke up and now can't sleep. Can I take benadryl or nyquil at this point (1:18 AM)?
