Can I type a power of attorney and just have it notarized?

A notary public here in Illinois made a power of attorney for my dad, but there was some information incorrect. My dad asked me to re-type it for him and just have the notary public notarized it, instead of paying another 30 dlls for another letter. Is it possible?
