When are tobacco plants harvested?

I'm doing an essay for AP US History and I'm writing as a Southern Plantation owner writing a letter to an editor of their local newspaper protesting the Navigation Laws. It needs to be in letter format, so I need a date and I though it'd be good to set it after a tobacco harvest... but I can't find when they would actually conduct the harvest. Thanks!
