What should i do? got my nano wet...?

i was at school and i had a water bottle in my bag and it leaked and my ipod was inside a folding case and its was in the water for probably about 5-10 minutes... but there wasnt much water anyways. so being the dumb person that i am i tried turing it on a lot and the backlight would come on for about a second then flash on and off for a few days. i plugged it into my ihome and it flashed again... but then it just shut off and now i can't do anything with it. you could see the water sitting on the screen... not good i know. i used a hair dryer on a lower setting, and that really didnt help. this happened about 6 days ago and i want to know if there's anything i can do to fix it myself without taking somewhere to get it fixed.
